Shanklin Elementary Can Food Drive has begun! Student Council was busy this morning setting out boxes outside each classroom for their annual food drive that will benefit our local Luling Food Bank. There is a competition to see which class brings in the most items! The drive will end on November 15.

Red Ribbon Week Wednesday was so much fun! Teachers rocked socks and crocs, hoodies, and hats while students suited up as some of their favorite teachers! Definitely doing this again!
After reading "Mango, Abuela, and Me", a heartwarming story about a parrot who helped a granddaughter and grandmother communicate, Ms. Johnson's class wrote letters to the principal asking for a class pet. Ms. Meshell surprised them with a chatty parrot they named Mango. They're excited to learn together!
