Luling Primary and Shanklin Elementary students continue to work on earning the No Place for Hate designation this school year! Luling Primary is working on creating a Tree of Respect that is made out of hand cutouts with student drawings about respect. Shanklin Elementary will be working on Peace Paths. A Peace Path is a conflict resolution tool that helps students come up with solutions by using problem-solving principles.
There will be mandatory parent & student meetings tonight, March 3rd, to discuss important information about the upcoming 21-22 Cheer/Mascot Tryouts.
Junior High will meet at 5:30pm in the Conference & Learning Center.
High School will meet at 6:15pm in the Fine Arts Building.

Governor Abbott has ended several COVID restrictions in Texas, including capacity and mask mandates, effective Wednesday, March 10th. Luling ISD is waiting on further guidance from the Texas Education Agency.
All students and staff will continue following our current safety protocols, including the requirement to wear masks, until further notice.

Wed Band Contest
The HS Cheer parent/student meeting on Wednesday, March 3rd, has been moved to 7pm in the Fine Arts Building, so that our families can support our Eagle Band as they perform at UIL earlier that evening.

JV will play LaVernia at 5:00pm.
Varsity will play Burton at 7:00pm.

Baseball Update:
The JV game vs. Burton on March 1st, and the JV game vs. Gonzales on March 8th have been cancelled due to both schools being unable to field a JV squad this year. Coach Christensen is currently searching for games to replace the cancellations. Updates for replacement games will be communicated when received.
The Varsity game vs. Burton and the Varsity game vs. Gonzales start times have been moved up to 5:30pm for both games.

Every February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, a national effort to raise awareness about teen dating violence. Luling ISD is proud to join love is respect’s campaign #KnowYourWorth. Luling High School and Gerdes Junior High have been teaching prevention skills to the students this month. Everyone deserves a healthy relationship! #TDVAM
