Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his unwavering commitment to equality and peace. May we continue to be inspired by his dream and honor his legacy by spreading kindness.

Baby, it’s cold outside! Warm up with a hot breakfast and lunch in our cafeterias—because brain freeze is for the weather, not your math test.

Due to inclement weather in the forecast, Luling ISD will be closed on Tuesday, January 21st.

There will be no school on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday. Enjoy the long weekend!

Attendance Matters! Every day counts when it comes to learning and success. Addressing #ChronicAbsence (missing 10%+ of school days) boosts graduation rates, improves academic achievement, and helps set students on the path to a bright future. Let’s keep showing up, Eagles!

Start your day with a balanced breakfast and power through the afternoon with lunch!
Eating in the cafeteria keeps you focused and ready to succeed!

January is School Board Appreciation Month! We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated trustees who work tirelessly to support our students and staff. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to excellence in education!

All campuses will be on a normal schedule tomorrow, January 9th.
While it will be cold and rainy, there is no prediction of ice in our area.
Our schools are warm and dry - the best place for our students to be to continue learning!

Winter is officially here and Luling ISD has been closely monitoring the weather. Any decisions regarding delays or cancellations will be made using the latest information and in consultation with emergency management officials.
Please continue to monitor your specific channels regarding weather-related updates if your child is involved in Athletics or other outdoor activities that may need to be canceled, rescheduled, or moved indoors.
Parents, guardians, and staff will be notified if there are any changes to Luling ISD's plans. If needed, those notifications will be made via Rooms, social media, email, texts, and district and campus websites. Please ensure your contact information is updated.

We were excited to welcome our staff back today, and teachers were hard at work preparing for our students' return tomorrow! Reading Language Arts teachers in grades 3-11 met to analyze student responses and plan differentiated support to help students achieve their best on the writing part of the STAAR later this spring. #LulingPrepare

Winter break, here we come!

Shanklin Elementary had their annual bike give-away with the help of members from the Hardeman Masonic Lodge #179 from Luling. This organization has been donating bikes to students in Luling ISD for over 30 years for skills associated with reading. This year, the recipents were selected by the progress they have made on their Amplify reading program.
Congratulations students! Keep up the great work!

Each year, our students have the opportunity to create the Christmas card the district sends out. Shanklin fifth grader Manuel Hernandez Rivera created the winning card this year! This morning, Ms. Meshell and Ms. Warren presented him with copies of the card for his friends and family and his reward. #LulingPrepare #LulingEmpower #LulingInspire
