Dear Luling Families and Community,

As we continue to prepare for the 2021-22 school year, we are encouraged by the improved conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, including the relatively low transmission rate within our community. The protocols and safeguards the district implemented this past year proved to mitigate exposure and spread.

Due to this, Luling ISD will return to 100% face-to-face instruction on August 18th. Remote learning will not be offered. All students will need to report to their respective campuses in accordance with the district’s adopted instructional calendar and will be subject to regular attendance requirements. Per the Governor’s Order, masks are not required, however safety will remain a top priority in our buildings. We will continue to monitor state and local guidance as we prepare our back-to-school plan.

We look forward to seeing all students attending classes on our campuses for the upcoming school year. All students need to be registered via Parent Portal. If your child is not registered, please do so soon. The link can be found on the district website.

We are focusing our efforts on providing an excellent educational experience for students that support their social, emotional, and academic growth. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Erin Warren
Superintendent

Atentamente,

Erin Warren

Repeat a Grade or Course

Given the disruptions of the 2020-2021 school year, the Texas Legislature amended state law to allow parents/guardians to elect for a student to repeat a grade or retake a high school course. For the 2021-22 school year ONLY, parents/guardians can opt for their child to:

1. repeat prekindergarten;

2. enroll in prekindergarten if the child was eligible to enroll in prekindergarten in the previous school year, and has not yet enrolled in kindergarten;

3. repeat kindergarten;

4. enroll in kindergarten if the child would have enrolled in kindergarten in the previous school year and has not yet enrolled in first grade;

5. for grades one through three, repeat the grade the student was enrolled in the previous school year;

6. for grades four through eight, repeat the grade the student was enrolled in during the 2020-2021 school year; and

7. for courses taken for high school credit, repeat any course in which the student was enrolled during the 2020-2021 school year.

If you are interested in any of the above options, you must follow specific steps found on the TEA website. Click HERE for more information. If you have any questions, contact your child's campus administrators.
