LISD Faculty and Staff,
Welcome back to the start of another great year in Luling ISD. I hope everyone enjoyed the summer and returns to school rejuvenated, refreshed and ready to serve students. The summer staff has been working hard in preparation for the 2017-2018 school year and will be ready for students when they arrive on August 28th.
As we prepare for the challenges of a new year, we have a lot of great things to celebrate. First, I want to personally thank all LISD teachers and administrators for the time and effort invested in building positive relationships with students. These relationships have transformed the culture and climate at the campus level and created healthy learning environments for kids. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the students in our community.
I would like to welcome four new instructional leaders to the LISD administrative team. Stephanie Heinchon will be our new Shanklin Elementary Principal, Laura Eubank is our new Principal at the Primary School, Susan Maxey will be our new Executive Director of Special Programs, and Christy Henry is our new Coordinator for Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. Welcome to the Luling ISD family.
Another area of celebration for the District is your deliberate focus on reducing utility costs (Goal 4). The total tax dollar savings for the 2016-2017 school year was $29,024. This was achieved because everyone took ownership of their own lights, computers and thermostat. Awesome job LISD!

As we continue to move forward, I encourage you to stay focused on our Vision, Mission and Goals and remember that in Luling ISD, we “Educate Every Child, Every Day”.
