2017 Summer School

SUMMER SCHOOL 2017

Under Texas Law, as set forth in the Student Success Initiative grade advancement requirements, a student who fails to perform satisfactorily on the STAAR reading and/or mathematics assessments at Grade 5 and 8 may not be promoted to the next grade level unless he or she completes all required accelerated instruction. Students that have attempted a STAAR End of Course assessment at the secondary level and have not performed satisfactorily will also be provided accelerated instruction in a summer school setting prior to the retest administration.

The Accelerated Instruction Summer School Program is designed to assist students in Grade 5, 8, and End of Course that did not approach grade level on the required STAAR tests and need further academic support. Registration will be completed at the home campus by June 2, 2017.  Accelerated instruction classes will be held June 5th – 19th . The retests will be administered June 20-23.

Students will be required to follow the Luling ISD Student Code of Conduct for all rules regarding behavior and attendance. Students in violation of the Student Code of Conduct can be dismissed from class and required to attend their test session June 20-23.
