On March 27, 2017, the Luling ISD Board of Trustees approved the adoption of a new Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2017-18 school year. The 2017-18 Teacher Salary Schedule provides an average increase in pay of 2.84% for teachers.
The Board also voted to offer Signing Bonuses for teaching candidates in critical needs areas. The $5,000 Signing Bonuses are available for Secondary Certified Math, Secondary Certified Science, Secondary Spanish, English Language Arts I & II, Bilingual and Special Education. Candidates with a degree in the content area are preferred.
The new salary schedule and signing bonuses are evidence of the Board’s continuing efforts to improve employee pay rates. Over the past four years, LISD teacher salaries have increased an average of 7.84%, and hourly employee pay rates have increased an average of 5%. Annual stipends are now provided for hard-to-fill areas, including Secondary Certified Math, Secondary Certified Science, Secondary Spanish, English Language Arts I & II and Bilingual. In addition, all employees received a $500 lump sum payment in October of the 2016-17 school year.The LISD Board of Trustees will continue to analyze employee pay rates in order to provide competitive compensation levels that best serve LISD employees and their families.
